PBO meet 2006
May 2006... Friday 26th and it's time for the PBO meet
in Yarmouth. As organised by Nigel Luther.
Weather..... Yuk....F5/6 from the west... Yuk
Left Ryde HW-2 banging in to the wind and heading for
a night at the Folly.
Salt spray in the face and hair. But the poor weather
kept the folly pontoon empty and thus provided a safe landing.
Saturday am and whilst the Madina River seemed more
sheltered the forecast was for more of the same
so on with the engine again and banging in to the wind...
wind over tide.
Safe arrival in Yarmouth ans time to tinkerthe boat
a bit and relax.
The weather greatly improved for sunday and the gathering
on the BBQ area went well.
Monday am departure with the promise of better weather...
NW winds giving a nice broad reach home.
Almost too nice as we were an hour ahead of time approaching
Ryde and spent some time practicing
hove too.
By the time we were able to get into the harbour the
wind had increased and meant a rather tricky
wind from behind approach to the pontoon!!!
Thank goodness for the helping hand of the HM with
the lines!!
