More steady progress. Vhf in and working GPS in with power,
most importantly... Origo in and on its gimbals. Now I can have
tea whilst I work!!
Fuel tank now screwed down and re plumbed, along with
a new filter/separator unit. The priming pump is a must have!!!
No pictures yet but I've stripped out the old sagging
vinyl liner from the fore cabin, very messy .
I have to get off the remaining adhesive and start
gluing something new in there.

Here's a picture of the bare fore cabin, quiet a daunting
task really.
Mean while I have started on the shore power install.
The galvanic isolator is at the foot of a quarter berth.
After advice on the YBW forum I have mounted the all
in one unit in the engine bay. As it happens the unit cooling
fan draws
air in from the rear of the unit and I have been able
to locate the unit over the hole left by the original DC switch
panel.
I intend to cover this with a shuttered grill so if
overheating is a problem air can be drawn in this way.
The blue cable dangling is the mains in.... I hope
to locate the shore power socket with in the stern locker.
The fit of the locker lid is such that I can feed a
cable in even with the lid down.
I like this idea as I have an aversion to making big
holes in the boat!
I've replumbed the water tank and now need to flush
it through, must think of a way to rig up a syphon.
Pumping the tank out using the foot pump would be a
task and a half!
After a tidy up she's looking almost homely!

After our trip in late April it was obvious that there
was a problem with the cooling on the Volvo engine. The temp guage
was bouncing up and down quiet rapidly from hot to cold. The first
obvious thing seemed to be the thermostat. After shopping around
the best deal to be had was from Keyparts in Watford.Swapping
the thermostat is a straight forward job and I am pleased to say
that it seems to have done the job.
Ii can also report that I have wired in some mains
sockets from the shore power unit and on a visit to Newport we
were able to test the install.
